Because of the advancing digitalization and the enormous reach of the Internet, the homepage is by far the most important platform for presenting the company to the outside world.

Almost everyone today "googels" (as a synonym for the use of the search engine of the market leader Google) for goods or services on the Internet. Today, you even don't save telephone numbers locally: Do you want visit your hairdresser? Then you quickly "google" for the phone number of your hairdresser. Correct?

Your homepage is your business card in the internet and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Therefore, the visibility, the timeliness, the design and the content of your corporate website are essential for your success.

There are many possibilities and variables until the creation of a website: To try to create the homepage yourself or hire a service provider, there are many providers, small and large, agencies, designers and computer scientists, specialists and hobbyists with services that are difficult to capture, "free" packages, "simple" Content Management Systems (CMS), "search engine optimized" designs, including care or you must do the maintenance by yourself and much more.

Therefore, for the sake of simplicity, let us find an equivalent from the normal life that represent homepage in some ways. Such an analogy could be a piece of furniture like a closet. As like closets, there are also the cheap, simple solutions on websites and there is the craft customization special product. Closets like homepages, whether cheap or inexpensive, all look more or less like closets, have a basically similar functionality and more or less serve their purpose. The qualitative differences, how much love, thoughts, preliminary work, competence and individuality were introduced into the finished product often only show up in the medium to long term, and then you will say: "That's just quality!" - this is a 3 steps homepage.

Every solution has a market. But since our customer potential consists mainly of small and medium-sized companies who want a professional appearance on the Internet, we have deliberately decided to make individual customized homepages. Our customers can not or do not want to employ their own programmers, have no time or lack of technical skills to run the effort into a standard product, a CMS like Wordpress or Joomla. These products simply do not meet the requirements of our customers. For example, to publicly display private vacation reports, such systems are ideal. We are convinced that only with this method we can offer our customers the service and quality that our clientele deserves and that they expect from a professional service provider.

In the following sections, we would like to discuss in detail the peculiarities of a website created by 3 steps ahead and clarify the differences to an CMS modular system without supervision. Just click on one of the following points for more detailed information.

Click me! Content?!

The fundamental differences to the standard product already begin with the preliminary considerations to the content of the web page. For each of our customers, for each company we determine the core benefit for the potential site visitor. In order to summarize the contents as compactly and meaningfully as possible, to leave out the important and to emphasize important things, a considerable effort is required. The visitor should thus be able to quickly grasp the unique selling points of each customer and his company and establish a contact. It is therefore about guiding the visitor and building the site so that the user can focus on the content in the short time. To a large extent, this contributes to the design of the website.

Click me! Design?!

Good product design is characterized by a minimalist approach. If a designer manages that the user can use the product without thinking about the usability, so the usage works intuitively, the goal of good usability is achieved. This design approach is developed and followed by many designers and also large companies such as Google, Apple and Microsoft. Keywords here are the flat and fluent design. We too are guided by this design mantra in the implementation of our projects. We minimize and optimize the content and, through a framework, additionally focus the user on this content. Good pictures and interactive additions such as background sliders and videos, transparency effects or even subtle shadow effects are the fashionable stylistic devices here and now. The navigation must always be clearly visible and always in the foreground, accessible to the visitor. The user should not lose himself, but always stay in control of the situation. In order to realize this design special techniques are necessary.

Click me! Technology?!

When it comes to the current home page technology, the buzz word is the so-called responsive web design. Many providers use these keywords, but what does that actually mean? Basically, this technique has become necessary because for homepages there are more and more different output devices such as e.g. Tablets and smartphones and, of course, a website should look everythere as good as possible. This flexibility required a move away from print-based pixel-based design approaches to a more relative design approach. This means for example, that it should be possible to change the size of a font relative to the output device - it should displayed on a PC in relation to a smartphone smaller. Logical. There are huge differences in the way this approach is implemented today. In order to illustrate the difference in the execution, I try again our closet example. You can buy a closet off the shelf, perhaps adjust the compartments a bit, or have a closet built just right for a niche. The same it is with the responsive web design. Most implementations of the technique are simple forms in which the contents shift a bit and then at some point there pops out a clumsy mobile menu. Here we go another, not so simple way. In our approach, we use several intermediate steps as so-called breakpoints in the design and even take care of an individual print view of the homepage. So we ensure that the proportions of the page can be displayed as appropriate on many devices. But what good is the best homepage, if it is not found?

Click me! Search Engine optimization?!

In difference as often mentionend there are no tricks behind the search engine optimization. There is not one "button" to press and your own page ends up at a top position in the search results. Search Engine optimization is simply work. And this work never ceases - the service provider has to "hear" through constant information acquisition what the market leader in search engines, Google, wishes for the indexed websites. There are many small and large screws that need to be turned. These include for example, creating and maintaining a company profile on Google. Whereby we would already be on the subject of "service".

Click me! Service?!
